Don't touch with a barge pole. Not to be trusted. I have just pulled out of a bungalow purchase for my daughter due to the refusal of the sellers to fix a significant number of electrical faults (some dangerous) highlighted in the EICR together with other hidden issues discovered in the Survey. The Ta agent had no qualms remarketing the property the very next day at the same price in the hope of course that another purchaser would be dumb enough to buy without pursuing a Survey or EICR and the Sellers would misdeclare the electrical issues to their solicitors.

Hi Brian,
I can’t seem to find a purchase under your name, but if this was under your daughter’s name, I’m happy to look into it. Please email us at enquiries@theagencyuk.com with the buyer’s details and the property address so we can review the situation properly.
That said, just to clarify, as estate agents, we act for the seller, and while it would be great if every seller agreed to carry out requested works, they are under no obligation to do so. I completely understand why this was frustrating for you, but it’s not something we, as agents, can control. In fact, we actively encourage transparency, and any serious buyer is always advised to do their own due diligence, just as you did.
It seems the real frustration here lies with the seller’s decision, rather than our role in the process. Given that, we feel a 1-star review is unfair, but we appreciate your feedback nonetheless.
Best,
Steph
