Avoid using this company by all means - We lived in a property managed by Chesterton's for a year. In the time we lived with them, we reported issues with the accommodation in the first week of moving into the accommodation, they didn't sort this in the 9 months of us living there. They constantly sent someone out to 'price it up', but never once did someone come to fix anything. Things like not providing keys for the windows to open, bath panels and shower's hanging off the wall. We had 4 different property managers in this time as people kept leaving the company. The guy who came round to look at the property to price up the issues mentioned that the accommodation was that poorly put together that he couldn't believe it. After 9 months of getting tired of nothing being fixed, we decided we had to get out. Once we left, we were assured that we would not receive any cleaning charges if we used their registered cleaners. When handing over the keys, Andrew mentioned that the flat was cleaner than it was before we moved in. After using their cleaners, they still tried to take £160 for a cleaning charge. The individual who has been working on getting our deposit back has been everything but competent, we had to wait 2 months for our deposit to come back. It's gotten that bad that even the property owner has mentioned to us that she will never use Chesterton's again. I would love to leave a 0 star but for some reason that isn't possible. Considering we had nothing fixed in the time that we lived in the accommodation, we thought we'd be able to leave the flat. Instead we had to pay over £600 to leave early. I would avoid using this company at all costs, not only will you have nothing fixed, but you will also struggle to get most of your deposit back.
