Dated office
Very mixed bag with Tom. He was very pleasant and helpful when he was signing me up for a tenancy, which I paid in full, but the after care was quite poor. Pre-agreed terms were not met until I pushed for them to be met, and coming towards the end of the tenancy, he seems to be attempting to label enforcement of legally binding terms as "aggressive and childish" and called me a "knob". Definitely a buyer beware situation.
Strung along for a week after offering on a property. The agent maintained that they couldn’t get details of my sale from my agent, however another Droitwich agent had no problem with this.
Me and my partner went to see a student friendly house ("Student Friendly" was in the description and in the photos- as a blue banner across the far right corner) and we made it clear that we were both full time students with a very young child. We were greeted by a guy named Luke and everything went very well, it was pretty much the house we wanted. However when I phoned them up to pay the application fees I was told by Luke that referencing won't pass as me and my partner earn Student Finance "only" and are students... I find this quite ridiculous as we both earn benefits and both of our independent student finances together make it quite easy to afford the house. I then asked Luke why we cant use a guarantor for referencing like any other estate agent company and he then said that their referencing company doesn't allow that. Well I was incredibly shocked and disappointed by this as we weren't expecting to be turned down for a student friendly house being students. On a positive note, since this review I have been sent a personal email from Luke, and I would like to add that this negative review has no reflection whatsoever upon customer service and after care. Luke was polite, friendly and approachable and was happy to answer any questions we had regarding the property. It was as previously stated a fault on behalf of their referencing company. However I hope the advert will soon be rectified.
This estate agents must be the worst in Lincoln by far, extremely unprofessional, not transparent and do not understand how to hold people accountable. They all need training including their managers as it’s a shambles dealing with them and from hear on out I will make sure they’re never recommended. They have no respect for wasting your time and money.
Absolute cowboys, think they’re on selling sunset with the attitude.
Our experience with this letting agency was extremely disappointing. After our application was accepted and the holding deposit paid, we were told we had to move in the day after the previous tenants moved out and accept the property in whatever condition it was left in. When we asked for the lease agreement so we could give proper notice to our current landlord, they falsely claimed they couldn’t issue it more than three weeks in advance but still advised us to give notice anyway. The following week, they changed the proposed move-in date to sometime in early January without giving a firm date and remained vague about the situation throughout. Two weeks passed with no contract and no confirmed move-in date, so we informed them we were keeping the application open but reserved the right to withdraw and receive a refund if needed. We also clarified that we would not accept the property in whatever condition it was left in. Despite these reasonable and entirely standard requests, the agency abruptly withdrew our application. Altogether, the process felt disorganised, misleading, and highly stressful. I would not recommend this agency based on our experience.
THEY HAVE BEEN REPORTING AND DELETING NEGATIVE REVIEWS. My partner and I came across a property being sold by this estate agents that we liked. We went for a viewing and all seemed fine until we informed them we have a property to sell and we were told that we are not favourable due to having a chain. This was not the sellers requirement but the estate agents! They proceeded forth the next working day to ask when we would be available for them to come over to valuate our property. I had declined as the cheek of it to tell me I am not favourable but then want to list my property?? Absolutely not! There were a number of phone calls where I was reminded that I am not favourable due to having a chain which urked me every time. In the end we gave the top offer of the guide price and informed this estate agents we are in the position to buy that property without having to sell ours, no information was taken to prove this but was asked for our top and final offer, why would I out bid myself? Then I received a call to inform me that the seller has decided to go with a buyer with no chain, she is not in a rush to sell and has yet to find a property elsewhere near her daughter. Seems all to convievent that 1) The estate agent was already deterring me from the first viewing due to my property. 2) My offer being the top offer was not accepted and apparently the seller's choice. Estate agents are meant to present the information to the seller and that my position to being able to buy the property without selling mine was not presented to her. I sensed foul play from the very beginning, The estate agent informed me that it was difficult to get the lady to list her property and it took time because her husband recently passed away so her daughter had asked her to move near her. The lady is taking her time to find a place but also has an attachment to this property of hers as its her home, her memories, but the estate agents did not care as they wanted a quick sale. Now I understand why the estate agent has pressed the poor seller to go with a buyer without a chain, they have exploited her and her vulnerability! They want a quick sale before she changes her mind hence the buyer without a chain and not presenting her with all the information of our offer and also makes sense to see how much more we were willing to offer as they wanted to weigh up their commission from my offer and the buyer with no chain. They even called my estate agents to confirm if I have had offers on my property and told me it's so they can inform their seller of what position we are in. It was not for that purpose. They had other information which could have been presented however they chose to say we have a chain it's not sold and go with the person without a chain. Looks like they want their commission very quickly. However she has still yet to find a property to move to and they lied to me that she's found a place and needs a buyer without a chain. Neil had also confirmed on the phone to me that they would rather deal with buyers without a chain as its an easier sale. Meaning those who have a property can not purchase a property being sold by Hillbillys. They also had the audacity to say we intimidated the vendor by attending her address, when in fact she was asked if she would like to know what the estate agents have been saying about her and doing behind her back she did not want to know and that was that. This estate agent is not professional, they take down negative rated reviews, they lie on responses, been around for 130 years with only 36 reviews that too only positives? They took down mine and my husbands review stating it was not genuine when we have had a bad experience with them due to their behaviour.
Contacted lettings regarding arranging a viewing. The receptionist was not very pleasant and was abrupt. She arranged a time for a viewing and then asked for me for details if I match a potential tenants criteria. Some of the questions were relevant but others like how old my cat is & if it stays in or goes out were ridiculous. As we are both pensioners she said we don't pass the criteria financially so suggested a guarantor. I said I can pay the full contract term up in one sum out of my savings. She said that is not possible as it would alter the contract. Her attitude was getting more surly especially when I said I will have to inform my family member first before putting them forward as a guarantor. I went off the phone to do this but not happy the way I was being treated. Within half an hour I phoned back to be answered by another abrupt person who claimed to be the manager and said in off-hand fashion the let has gone hours ago. Well why was they going to arrange a viewing that afternoon? The manner she said it aroused suspicion it was a lie. So beware and be forewarned if you are considering dealing with this office.
