Agreed a property to let with Belvoir, paid the holding deposit and cancelled other viewings that we had planned. The company then informed us they had accepted multiple holding deposits (which is illegal) and the flat had been let to somebody else. When I questioned this practice through email, they just fobbed me off and refused to acknowledge that they had acted illegally or even apologise.
