Unfortunate My experience with Belvoir started with an extortionate estate agent fees (£300), for which, we were not shown around the flat, not shown where anything was, or how anything worked, or what key fits where etc. One incident I feel was significant in the negative experience I had with Belvoir was when there was a leak coming through from the flat above, we need to contact the management company of the flats to get hold of the occupier of the flat that was leaking into ours. We were not given any contact numbers when moving in for the management company or even their name, we contacted Belvoir’s emergency number where we spoke to a lady, who was rude and annoyed we were interrupting her night at a concert. Her only answer was for us to call the fire brigade to break down the door of the flat above. (The leak was not server enough for this). We eventually found the number to call for the management company (after calling the CEOS home number as nothing else was available online). It took 6 months for Belvoir to confirm the damage caused by the leak and to repaint the marks caused by the leak. There were many cases where Belvoir would not call me back and were less than helpful. The above is just a prime example. When the flat was put up for sale, we were the last to know. They completed what they claimed to be a “routine inspection” that “landlords like to do from time to time”. We were not informed that after this inception the landlord had decided to put the flat up for sale until I was called by somebody at Belvoir asking if it was okay for somebody to come a view the property and it was already on Rightmove. As it turned out, I wanted to buy the flat had to quickly get a mortgage offer together and my offer was accepted. At this point Belvoir’s service did a 180, and Jan was very helpful at calling and updating me and chasing in active solicitors. To top off the experiences with Belvoir I have just been charged £30 “admin fee” for them giving my rent back for this month, even though I was told there was nothing more I needed to do with regards to Belvoir once my flat purchase was complete. Overall I would not recommend Belvoir for renting at all, and the 2 stars from this review is for the support offered by Jan when buying the flat. Even though as previously stated, we weren't informed the flat was being put up for sale.

Dear Sarah, I am really sorry to hear about your poor experience. This is certainly not the norm and we pride in servicing both tenants and landlords on a timely and courteous manner. The fees we charge reflect the costs of our business and I am sorry that you feel they are excessive. I have spoken to the admin team about the out of hours call and they too were really regretful of your experience. The main reason for the delayed repairs was that we had to wait for the block management insurance claim to go through to repair the ceiling. Our general repair time are a few days on similar jobs. The admin charge on the returning of your overpaid rent is also reflective of our time spent receipting and protecting all our clients monies. However in light of this, we have refunded you the full £30 for the admin fee this afternoon. I sincerely hope you will understand our predicament on certain matters. I will call you to resolve the other matters too.
