I can highly recommend Mark at Northwood. We purchased our home through them in November and Mark was extremely helpful, polite and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble and he always answered our questions and was prompt at calling us back when he said he would. We would definitely use Northwood if we decide to move again! Thank you so much for helping our move go smoothly as it could.

"I could not praise Northwood..."

I could not praise Northwood enough in particular Will Pring who we mainly dealt with, they have gone above and beyond looking after us during our tenancy! Everyone at Northwood were extremely friendly and easy to talk to, All problems were resolved fast and efficiently. Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to leave the property quite quickly and they really did help us as much as they could and for that we are extremely grateful! 10/10 definitely will use again.

"While renting a property in..."

While renting a property in Exeter, we have mainly had the pleasure of dealing with Will Pring, who has been incredible helpful over this year. He is friendly yet professional, reliable and punctual, and has dealt with any queries we have had imminently (even once popping straight in on his way home!). He has made the whole process of renting very smooth and easy - the next letting agency has definitely got something to live up to!

Terrible service, terrible communication. Useless. We have been waiting over a month and a half for the agents to deal with issues with our student house. I have emailed, called and spoken to at least 3 different members of staff who promised they'd "get it sorted right away"! Still waiting. I've contacted them at least once a week for 6 weeks. Communication about work on the house is shocking, and actually getting work done, impossible. We will not be renting through Northwood again.

Our first time for selling a house. Everything was done in a rush. Had to pull them up on the photos they did for us, and then the spelling mistakes in the literature. Our house wasn't the most tidiest, though in a good location. It was a stressful event from start to finish. I would use an internet based agent in the future at a much less fee.

"After being a client for 6..."

After being a client for 6 Years with Northwood (Torquay) my business was transfered to the Exeter branch. As a landlord its important to have a housing agent that you can trust and they in turn look after your interests. This was the relationship I had with Northwood Torquay. You'd think the same service would be on offer at the Northwood Exeter branch, sadly no. The Northwood franchises differ greatly from branch to branch. Exeter took over my long standing business and then proceeded to dismantled the business relationship inside 4 months.How can branches of the same franchise be so different. Well its down to the people in the end. Northwood Exeter have a director called Gail Barnes and she is solely to blame in my opinion for the lack of support from a long standing Landlord and client. Her inability to listen was clear from the start and instead of working together to find solutions, she only came back with invoking clauses in the contract. I asked on many occasion for her to stop doing this, but the emails still arrived with contract clauses being mentioned ignoring my previous requests to keep an open dialogue. Her admin skills are poor and when you phone about a problem she is dealing with she is always unavailable. When problems do occur with rented properties you get 3 quotes, this is standard practice especially when contractor prices can differ greatly, only 1 quote was given and I refused to accept the vast amount of money this contractor wanted to do uneccesary work. For not accepting her contractor the property was returned to me washing her hands of the situation. The reviews on this website are glowing in some cases, well consider yourself the lucky ones. I only speak from my personal experience and I am disappointed in having to write such a poor review. If you are a landlord and considering using Northwood Exeter as a letting agent, I strongly urge you to try elsewhere. 2/10

Highly unprofessional. Our family is in the process of relocating and looking for a rental in Exeter and had arranged a viewing with Northwood. Drove over 100miles with my 6 month old baby in tow to view the property, only for them to cancel on us on the day of the viewing!

I have never delt with such awful people, honestly couldn't believe the attitude of the owner! They were prepared to make my family homeless for the sum of £1200 during legal issues with a 3rd party. Terrible don't touch with a barge pole.

I can confirm that this issue has been fully resolved and that you have been able to remain in the property without any expense incurred to yourselves. This matter came about due to contract negotiations with the landlord which would trigger the end of tenancy process, and we will always do everything we can within the remit of our contract with landlords to ensure that our tenants are not negatively impacted by these negotiations.
