I'm renting a house that's managed by Northwood on behalf of a private landlord, and have been for about 2 years. In that time everything's been pretty smooth- I've had some faults repaired in a reasonable timescale, the communications have been good if not quite perfect. As a renter I'm not sure you really a management company, you just get what you get when you find a property you like but Northwood have been very good for me.
