We needed to sell the family home after my Father died. Naturally a difficult time, with a lot of things to sort out. We saw three estate agents, all of the people we met were nice, but only Karen from Nicol and Co came across as willing and able to actually sell the property for us. They did the usual stuff you'd expect a good agent to do, but then they did everything else that you would want, and to date, Nicol and co are the first agents I've ever come across in over 25 years of buying and selling property who have managed this. They did EVERYTHING. They organised an open day, and hosted it. They accompanied every single viewing before and after, I never had to meet any potential buyer. Their various departments kept me informed at every stage of the process, and I really appreciated having experts in each department. And everyone was helpful, polite and prepared to go that extra bit further to help. To give an example of their helpful can do attitude: I contacted them one day after I'd been to the house; I couldn't remember if I'd set the alarm. Paul went round, checked the house was secure and let me know all was well. That is true customer service. Now for the result. Within a few days of the open day they sold the house for about 7% over the offers in excess of price. The way we negotiated the fee structure, we actually paid more than their normal fee, and it was worth every penny. Nicol and Co set the standard for estate agencies everywhere.
