Closer to a scam than any actual benefit to tenants. Sold as a better alternative for tenants when renting as you don't have to put a deposit down in the traditional sense and that it is like insurance for landlords. But what it leaves out in the description and hides away in all the small text is that the tenants are still responsible for any charges the landlord makes and you pay an extra £60 for the privilege of disputing it. You only get 7 days to respond to a claim too. So they take your money and do absolutely nothing with it to make a tenants life easier. Would definitely not use again.

However, many tenants appreciate it as a flexible and more affordable option compared to traditional security deposits, as it allows them to pay a smaller, non-refundable fee at the start of their tenancy instead of a large upfront sum. We strive to ensure transparency throughout the process. Which is why when setting up their Reposit, tenants are asked to confirm their understanding of the following key points before any payment is made: 1. I understand that I am still liable for any charges at the end of the tenancy 2. I understand that at the end of the tenancy, my Landlord may register charges via Reposit. I will be notified of these and can accept them or raise a dispute 3. I understand that if I do not respond within 7 days, the charges will be accepted and I will be automatically charged or held legally liable for the full amount. If amounts remain unpaid, this can affect my credit score 4. I understand that it's my responsibility to ensure my contact details are updated so Reposit can notify me of any claims or updates to my Reposit 5. I understand that if my tenancy lasts for more than 12 months, I will be charged an annual fee of £30 Tenants who do not agree with these terms have the choice to opt out of Reposit and opt for a traditional deposit instead.
