Very unhelpful. They told me they had contacted me to retrieve payment for finding a tenant, that is something they did not do as I found my own. I do not trust Paul Ainsworth, I hear a lot of stories about ‘allegedly’ lots of unreturned deposits etc... I understand they don’t like the truth being put on here so they threaten legal action. I would hate for anything bad to happen to such an honest, fair and trusted estate agent.

Hello Nick.. Sorry you feel the need to leave us a 1 Star review, after you used our services. As you know we did what we were asked to. You then decided not to pay us and ignored all requests for payment which left us no alternative but to issue court proceedings against you. Surely this is something you must have expected especially as we gave you several advance notices of our intentions. Only when you needed the CCJ marked as satisfied on your credit file did you decide to make contact and settle the debt. All of this could have been avoided had you been more honourable in your actions and dealings with us. As for your several lies and libellous comments above about us being liars etc., I suggest you retract this to avoid further litigation. We don’t take lightly to such remarks. If any of the above was true you could have applied to the courts with evidence to challenge the judgement. And for the avoidance of doubt, this is both mine and my wife’s business and is in both our names. Paul Ainsworth-Lord

rubbish and unhelpful. avoid! UPDATE: that would be because you did not even ask. I walked into the office, got looked up and down and told there was nothing suitable for me at your business

After signing the contract, contact with the lady from the agency is over, she does not respond to e-mails and text messages.

I'm actually at a loss as to how this estate agent has such a high rating on Google Reviews (must be fake). In my experience, they have been uncaring and unprofessional. There were several issues with my property before I moved in (damp stained carpet and damp bathroom wall), which I was told would be fixed before I moved in. The bathroom wall was sorted 6 months after I moved in, after I consistently contacted them about it, and the carpet stain was still there when I moved out (14 months later). The house itself was of very poor quality (very cold and damp), but at the time, I needed a quick move and the rent was cheap enough so that was expected I guess. I do have to say I was thankful to Sally for returning my deposit (although I did have to make a couple of phonecalls chasing this after several emails went unanswered). Amazingly [sarcasm], a few days after my deposit was returned, I received a lovely [more sarcasm] email from the estate agents informing me that I was in arrears and owed them money, including a late rent charge. I received this on the 13th May having paid my full months rent on the 18th April, despite moving out on the 4th April. (They requested a 30 days notice period so I didn't mind paying the April-May rent). I replied immediately explaining that I couldn't be in arrears as I had moved out and paid my rent up until the 17th May and had even walked in them performing a viewing on the property before I'd even officially moved out when I popped round to pick up the last of my belongings. 5 days later, I've had no reply - very professional. Anyway, apologies for the essay, but after a bit of research, this estate agent has a terrible reputation and I can only assume all the good reviews on Google are fake and I would urge people to stay away.

Quick enough to get your deposit and admin fees etc still waiting for deposit back after 6 weeks !!!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we always value feedback form our clients and tenants alike. I've looked into the reason for your partner's deposit not being returned sooner and this was down to us waiting for the Landlord to authorise the release of the deposit from the DPS. Once we received this we were able to advise the DPS to release the deposit. I note from our DPS management dashboard that your partner's deposit was returned on 25th May. It appears we haven't kept you informed well enough on this occasion and I apologise for this.

Hi Simon, I'm sorry you feel you had a very bad experience whilst you were a tenant in a (bedsit) property we were instructed to manage by your Landlord. From our experience, we do usually find it's a very unpleasant pleasant and embarrassing experience for tenants when we have to evict them for non-payment of rent and other reasons..... Also, we cannot tolerate tenants that behave aggressively towards us and other tenants. Kicking doors in and damaging the property, especially when this behaviour is fuelled by the use of drugs and excessive drinking, is totally unacceptable from any tenant, and shocking when the tenant is a teacher! I'd be grateful if you could get in touch to make arrangements to clear the rent arrears on your account, and cover the cost of the damages.
