Zero stars! Extremely poor experience with Streets Ahead – avoid if you vaule your health and sanity Our experience with Streets Ahead (Lower Addiscombe branch) has been consistently negative. Key property issues like mould and maintenance were ignored, and communication was vague, delayed, or contradictory. During my time in the property I later got diagnosed with asthma. We had over 10 different property managers in two years, meaning we constantly had to repeat the same issues with no continuity or accountability. Both the check-in and check-out processes were disorganised, stressful, and lacked transparency. A formal complaint we submitted in March 2025 still hasn’t been addressed and we are now in October 2025. Which means they have not followed their own complaints policy procedures. Streets Ahead have also failed to follow the agreed check-out inspection process and instead shifted responsibility onto us while threatening extended rent liability, which felt unfair and unreasonable. Overall, the agency has been unprofessional, unsupportive, and obstructive. We would strongly advise others to think carefully before working/engaging with this company. Streetsahead care team have been contacted on more than one occasion this year. To this day nothing has been resolved.
This agent was very difficult and unpleasant to deal with. Would not recommend.
In my opinion, Denim is not a nice person. His reactive and spiteful
We have had a very poor experience with Streets Ahead as tenants of a property they manage — and unfortunately, our experience reflects what others have shared in recent reviews. From the start of our tenancy, we have raised multiple issues with the property, none of which have been resolved - despite chasing them for over two months. Communication has been appalling. Daisy, the Head of Property Management, has consistently ignored our emails and phone calls. We have received no updates, no follow-through, and no accountability. On the rare occasions we’ve had contact, Daisy's manner has been dismissive and unprofessional, which has only added to our frustration. A contractor from Streets Ahead was scheduled to visit and failed to show up, only notifying us after the appointment time that they could not attend. This caused us to waste time and take unnecessary leave from work. Since then, we’ve tried repeatedly to arrange a follow-up visit, but the agency and contractor have shown no flexibility or urgency whatsoever. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Streets Ahead to anyone — whether you're a tenant or a landlord expecting a reliable agency to manage your property.
This has been the worst experience we’ve ever had with an estate agent. We were told just one day before moving in that the landlord had pulled out. For two weeks before that we were ignored, despite constantly chasing for updates. Completely unprofessional and careless with people’s lives. On top of that, the agent asked us into leaving a fake 5-star review in advance, for the agent to get a free holiday or whatsoever. That alone says everything you need to know about how this company operates — dishonest and manipulative. They wasted our time, left us in a horrible situation, and showed zero accountability. A sham of a team, and a disgrace to the industry. Do not trust them. Stay well away. Location: Lower Addiscombe Rd, Croydon
I live directly opposite this estate agency and have observed that the business leaves its interior lighting on throughout the entire night, every night. The lights are bright white and the premises have no blinds or curtains, which results in an excessive amount of light flooding into nearby apartments. This is not a trivial matter. The illumination is strong enough to make it difficult to rest properly, even with blackout blinds drawn. The constant exposure has affected our ability to sleep, and our pets have also become unsettled by the perpetual brightness. It is extraordinary that a commercial establishment operating within a residential area should disregard the impact of its lighting in this way. Most reputable businesses use timers, dimmers, or blinds to prevent unnecessary light spill outside of operating hours. Such measures are inexpensive and straightforward to implement. The continued failure of this agency to take any remedial action suggests a lack of consideration for its neighbours and for the broader community. I hope the management will reflect on the inconvenience caused and take appropriate steps to mitigate the disturbance. Until this issue is resolved, I cannot in good conscience recommend this agency to anyone who values professionalism or civic responsibility.
Property management is extremely bad. They don’t answer calls and hardly respond back to emails or messages. There is no urgency and no timeline to fix the issues raised by the tenants. It keeps on going for weeks together sometimes even months. And the issues are still not fixed. The tenants are frustrated. Tenants calls are not answered and the landlord calls are not answered. Emails go unanswered too. We have been in touch with Daisy whom can never seem to get hold of. I’m really not sure whom to get in touch because they say they are the managers, but I need to complain about the managers to somebody in Streets ahead.
The worst estate agents - streets ahead lower addiscombe Property location Croydon I completely agree with the review below about abysmal communication …
Avoid this agency at all costs. I paid a £461.53 holding deposit to Streets Ahead to secure a rental property and was assured by the agent that referencing came back fine on WhatsApp and that I should give my notice. Based on this, I gave notice on my current home. She then came back stating that my housing reference came back that I had one late payment in 4 years so I have a conditional offer (not failed), and they changed the terms of the agreement — suddenly demanding 3–6 months’ rent upfront and a guarantor, which were never discussed beforehand - as well as security deposit. This would have been £8.5k minimum to be paid. This was not something we could afford and felt like a drastic change in terms. When I shared this was an issue they then said they could do flatfair for us to waiver the security deposit - I had asked about flatfair the previous Sunday and was told it wasn't available. When I was no longer able to proceed under these revised terms, they refused to refund my holding deposit and wrongly claimed the Tenant Fees Act 2019 does not apply to holding deposits — which is simply false. Their communication was inconsistent, unprofessional, and misleading throughout. This experience has left me at risk of being without a home. I would not recommend Streets Ahead to anyone looking for transparency, professionalism, or ethical practice. And only because I don't believe in pulling down young women I will hold out on sharing the agents full name.
I had a very disappointing experience with this agency. After signing the tenancy agreement, completing referencing, paying the deposit, and receiving verbal and written confirmation of a move-in date, I was informed just one day before moving that there was an issue with the property. Despite repeatedly checking in throughout the week, I received no updates. My wife and I had already packed, taken time off work, and even removed our names from our previous accommodation. The lack of communication, last-minute cancellation, and poor handling of the situation caused significant stress and inconvenience. Literally we have no place to stay. I would advise others to be cautious and ensure they receive a fully signed contract and clear confirmation before making any commitments.
