After returning to the UK over twenty-five ago following thirty years on the Continent, we settled close to Highcliffe, Christchurch for early retirement in a relatively modest dormer bungalow. With a large, overgrown garden we embarked upon a long period of slow but persistent clearance and modernisation, including half-way through, a major extension to help accommodate our growing number of grand-children for increasingly often, sea-side holidays. Eventual changes of circumstances lead us to a second attempt to downsize. We eventually met Mike Read of Fine and Country whom we selected to take on our project. Recognising the potential, based on location, accommodation and facilities, Mike proposed a sensible target price and went on to develop a superb and professionally produced brochure, including his own drone still and video products. Even whilst this was going on, he started to introduce early viewers from his sources of potentially interested buyers. A succession of visitors followed, where his careful vetting ensured everyone’s time was not wasted. After a couple of months once a final list of potential purchasers was created, Mike arranged a process whereby a conclusion was reached to satisfy all involved, with a price slightly over that originally suggested. Exchange and Completion was eventually achieved with a few ‘chain’ delays outside his control. Throughout the process, Mike was friendly, very knowledgeable, professional, informative and responsive to our requests for advice. We could not have hoped for a better person to take on our downsizing project, which for an 85 year-old is always going to be somewhat of a challenge. Highly recommended.
