Martin & Co have breached our tenancy agreement in multiple places, taken some of our deposit illegally (at the very least with no discernable reason why), breached the data protection act, never validated our right to rent, tried to manipulate me into doing their footwork while I had difficulty walking and when I refused, Libby came to collect my key to get a copy made and after my asking for assurance it would be returned the same day replied "I will get the key cut and we will take it from there" I asked several times for her to confirm it would be returned the same day and each time she responded with the same answer until she finally gave in. I then had to threaten to deduct a days wages from the rent for each day it was not returned as I would have to miss work, before it was finally returned many hours later. Rent is always increased regardless of the state of disrepair the property has always been in. It took ten days to replace a fridge in the height of summer leaving us without in the meantime. There seems to be no communication between staff as after being told the property would no longer be available due to the landlord selling, a week later we were offered a new contract, after my querying this it was decided the flat was unavailable, a further week later I was asked to prove my immigration status to renew the contract, even though I am not an immigrant. Now with less than a month of our tenancy remaining they are silent on the future of the property and we are left clueless. Would give zero or negative stars if it were an option as even 1 seems too generous.
