Me and a flatmate have been renting a property from Ewemove in Hove since October 2020 and are in the process of moving out; we have been good tenants who have never been late with rent, never had any complaints from fellow tenants in the building, and we have always stayed in touch with Ewemove to report any maintenance that the property needed. Upon moving out we have received extremely condescending emails from our letting agent about the “cleanliness” of the flat and threats to take away our security deposit (which is over a months worth of rent) in order to have it “professionally cleaned”. Considering the state in which the flat was given to us (not professionally cleaned) I would highly recommend avoiding using Ewemove as a letting agent; we are currently experiencing a very hard move-out with a letting agent who will go to lengths to take as much money from us as possible without proper justification.

A shame to receive this review Ed. Given the many 5 star reviews from tenants saying how well they have been treated throughout the whole process?? But strictly dealing with facts: I agree with the 1st paragraph, we had no issues. You received one email from me which evidenced a lack of cleaning on exit. It did contain the comment that I was disappointed as you were given the allowance of two extra days free of rent charges to complete cleaning as you requested. No threats to take your deposit away were made. Just the note that cleaning charges would apply to correct the condition you left the flat in. That would not amount to your full deposit, just the fair and appropriate costs. You claimed you couldn't see through the oven glass when you took the property on and when I sent you another copy of your check in report that had time and date stamped pictorial evidence of the sparklingly clean glass and professionally cleaned oven - then you decide to post this review. That's a shame.
