Appreciated very much Phil Day’s approach re: his ‘pitch’ for me to sell my property via Hilbery Chaplin [HC]: although, in part, I was of course interested to discover how much the house might be worth, not having sold a house for 26 or so years I was also keen to gain some insight into what the selling experience might be like, and whilst one or two of your rivals’ representatives seemed, to me, quite pushy - and one, in particular, seemed, to be frank, off-puttingly overconfident that he’d get my business (despite the relatively high percentage commission he’d be charging), to the point where he seemed, at one stage during his visit, keen to get me to sign-up ‘there and then’! - Phil took the time to explain everything in a calm, rational and unhurried manner, and since, in addition to making it plain that HC would be happy to help me to sell the property on the open market if that’s how I wanted to proceed, he shared the fact that there were at least two alternative approaches open to me, both of which seemed to me worthy of further investigation and one of which none of the other agents have mentioned, making the decision re: which estate agent to go with was the easiest one I’ve made so far in respect of the sale of my home!
