Had a few dealing with this estate agency as a buyer, each time it was an awful experience, the latter being the one I am going to focus on. I put an offer in for a property almost immediately after being one of the first to view - offer was inches away from the asking price. I subsequently requested for the property to be taken of the market but this was not accommodated and wanted another £1k from me to do so, despite offering over 98.5% of the asking price (property well over £350k) and provided all the finance proof inc DIP. House was then sold to someone else! who I have since learnt also offered the EXACT SAME amount ** a week later ** , and the estate agents excuse was they're paying CASH, which was not the case either! Dealt with a person from start to finish who's name begins with "E", who then left the matter with the girls to inform me that I haven't secured it ,rather than speaking to me directly (he knew how badly I wanted the house). I tried to bump up my offer immediately, but was faced with a negative tone and nothing came of it. Felt it was all 'manufactured' to sell to the other party. Hope I never have to deal with Mortimers ever again and glad sellers are using them less and less in my catchment areas.
