We have been in our current rental property over 5 years, and during that time the landlord has changed Estate Agents managing the property 3 times. Before this we dealt with 2 different Estate Agents in our prior flat. Alexander & Co are the latest Estate Agents we are assigned to. We had no end of problems with all of the prior estate agents, they were impossible to get in contact with, slow to come back if at all, never very friendly, and pretty unwilling to help with anything. One of them even insisted on holding my provisional drivers' licence in exchange for lending me the spare set of keys when I got locked out, and when I retrurned them, they feigned all knowledge of taking my licence, then later claimed they sent it back to me in the post. Obviously they had lost it, and I had the cost of replacing it with no apology. Alexander & Co have been the difference of day and night. As soon as they took over management of our flat, they assigned us a Property Manager (ours is Madaline Peris) who we can contact directly if anything goes wrong. Unfortunately, we have had a few issues with appliances breaking and other general problems in the flat, but contacting Madaline is as easy as dropping an email. She always replies really quickly, and is always happy to help, look into the issue, or book a service. She is very good with correspondence, not just in coming back to you quickly, but with keeping you updated with what is happening, sending you a copy of the confirmation of booking form of any services booked, etc. Since lockdown/social-distancing began, over 18 weeks now, I have been staying with family. I learned an appliance had broken during this time with potential to cause problems. The engineer required someone to be home during his visit. Rather than have me travel from the location I am staying which is some distance away, Madaline agreed to attend the flat on my behalf. I do not consider this to be part of her job, and it is one example of how she goes above and beyond. Any problems we have had since the property moved to Alexander & Co's management have been resolved exponentially faster than with any of the other agents, response time is really fast and they are very courteous and professional. If you have to rent, the best you can hope for is having a good estate agent to work with, like Alexander & Co. It makes such a difference as a tenant, to be able to contact someone quickly and easily and get a quick response.
