We rented out our one bedroom apartment with Ellis & Co through Ashley for a year, and the experience was a nightmare. We realised after one year that the bedroom went completely mouldy and the tenant was complaining about it for 6 months… pictures attached. We actually received the pictures and info through another agency who were amazing and life savers. We never got pictures or notes from the contractual quarterly inspections, even after chasing Ashley multiple time over the phone and emails. He always found excuses and would push back. It cost us thousands in repair plus three months unable to rent it out. Ashley was by far the worst person I had to deal with from a professional standpoint.

The end of the tenancy was a nightmare. Kier was unhelpful and I had to chase him for weeks before being able to get my deposit back (over a month after moving out). It is honestly a shame, and ruined my experience with them completely.

They also ignored our emails and phone calls for months, which meant we had to deal with broken heating, broken taps, broke fire alarms etc.for months. 100% do not recommend.

Ignoring important emails for months, being rude on the phone... It's almost impossible to put how appalled I am at Ellis & Co (and Kier Hawkins in particular) into words. I have had some brilliant experiences of renting in London, and this one stands out as a really terrible experience in comparison. One email which I sent -to confirm if my deposit was protected or not- was ignored for four months. They split duties of care with the landlord in a manner which is neither explained nor explicable, and don't deem it worthy of their time to let you know if the things you've emailed about are actually the landlord's responsibility. I would avoid Ellis and & co at all costs.

Absolutely awful service. My two roommates and I couldn't find anyone helpful and moved out only because of out agent Ashley. Worst agency ever.
