Not much help in finding a place to live..rented accom
Absolute Joke. Tell students to pay by certain date, then refuse to release keys because deadline is a Saturday and 'we can't see the money'. Should we just move them into your office until you sort it out!! These students now have …
This was in 2021. For my second year at university, Dafydd Hardy were quite good at resolving issues with our student house but when i moved into a place in Ambrose Street my option changed very quickly. The house needed a huge clean for starters, when I first moved my belongings in, it hadn't looked like it had been bothered with at all. Stains on blinds as well as dirt and dust on the windowsills, kitchen and floor. During my first night I had a message off my housemate saying there were slugs coming through to the kitchen. This was because the skirting board underneath the units were broken, allowing the slugs the get in. This happened on a few occasions and the landlord suggestion for getting rid of them was nothing more than a joke. Unfortunately we were unable to view this house in person because of Coivd during the time, however if we were then I would have avoided this house at all costs. Here a few things that were wrong with it: Tap very loose in kitchen. Desk in room is unacceptable and ready to give at any point. Amount of dirt and stains shows it hasn't been cleaned fully. Strange smell of animal urine in housemates room. Microwave sparking and having to be replaced. Damaged wood surrounding the fire place. Kickboard loose and underneath the cabinets is basically like Arachnophobia. Slugs coming through the kitchen. Door to the bathroom doesn't lock. I immediately wanted out of the house, so I called Dafyyd Hardy on multiple occasions to try and resolve this issues but they were less than helpful. Just trying to get me to stay by having the landlord "fix" the issues of the house. They weren't interested in helping me at all in finding a new place to live and when my father got involved they spoke to him like an idiot despite the fact he's been doing mortgages for over 30 years meaning he probably understands more about housing then they do. Fortunately I was able to make a deal with the landlord allowing me to move out, she did come over to resolve some of the issues regarding the house such as replacing dirty lamp shades, fixed broken door handles and even rrplaces the oven with a new one. But shouldn't this have been done before having new tenants move in? Just appalled by it all considering how good Mike was at Dafyyd Hardy were during my second year at university. Make sure you have a full in depth look at the place you're interested in before purchasing or renting a property.
Well where do we start…..! Caernarfon branch- booked to view a property & I asked if any similar property with my specs around same area. Lad said he didn’t know and best look on …
If I could give 0 stars I would but instead I’ll give these money hungry people a huge lawsuit . As a student I decided to rent with them and the house clearly had ventilation issues but I did everything I could in my power to handle this with a Pro Breeze 10 L dehumidifier , windows open 24/7 . Using mould cleaners etc . I 2 weeks ago found out both my coats are covered in mould and they were both worth 2000£ . The agency has been so rude to me and has literally hanged up on me . I believe they think I am just a stupid foreigner but I’m actually a British Citizen and I also know my rights hence please do not rent with them ! They are a scam ! They will treat NHS workwear and NHS students like dirt for extra money !!!!
Do not rent a property from Dafydd Hardy, be prepared to lose your deposit no matter how much hard work you put into cleaning and preparing it to hand back. We had over 5 years of renting a property, 11 bi annual inspections all said we were excellent tenants. 2 weeks before moving out we had our last bi annual inspection where I asked "What do I need do in order to not lose my deposit" they advised me to make sure we left nothing in the garden, don't bother painting as after 5 years they expected it to be repainted, each room I showed them they said its fine. They also said just clean the carpets as they are old, this we did. I was not allowed on the premises while they carried out the inspection and not allowed back in after, I was not allowed to see the report or given the opportunity to put right anything they found. We were proud how we left the house, very clean and everywhere with no damage. To our surprise the landlord then demanded twice our deposit, the list included grass cutting as it was left 4 inches in January when it never stopped raining, a hedge needed cutting when it was done in September and should not be cut over winter or it will kill it, they got £80 for this. They said every radiator was damaged when infact the original inventory stated they were damaged when we moved in. the cooker was so old it was obsolete and no spare parts were available but they charged us £60 to clean it even though we had cleaned it, £40 to wipe over the cooker hood which was not as bad as they stated. The worse thing is had we been given the opportunity to go back the next day we would of happily deal with these issues. Lucky the deposit protect went to arbitration but we still only go back £80 out of £575, we were clearly let down by Dafydd Hardy and I am sure they advised the landlord to put in double the claim limit in order to get back nearly all the deposit. If you do rent take lots of photos of everything that are date stamped, when you leave take the same photos to use as evidence. They said the floor tile grout in entrance hall was discoloured, shower head not cleaned, extractor fan not cleaned the petty list just went on like window seals not cleaned. We will never rent again with this agency, beware.
