Seriously. I can not believe how utterly shocked I am right now to notice the property my husband and I are buying though this estate agency has today been re marketed without even telling us this was happening. We agreed a purchase price on the property in November 20, everything our end has been done through solicitors and mortgage valuation all done, we have been waiting very patiently ( I believe ) as sadly the owner of said property passed away late 2020 and we needed to wait for probate. ( not that the estate agency even let us know the owner had sadly passed away. We found out from our solicitor late January after we called to see if we could find out any possible dates for competition ). We hadn’t had any contact from Northwood for 3 months until last week when they called to say the executors now wanted more money as house prices have gone up but will give us first refusal and to have the bank holiday weekend to think about it as they wasn’t going to do anything about it until next week. I’ve had no call from Northwood at all to ask if we was happy to go ahead with the higher price ( I understand property has gone up but it’s not exactly our fault this has taken almost 6 months, we was ready in January ) as I understand probate hasn’t been granted yet anyway and no guarantee it will be anytime soon.I very much doubt anyone is going to reimburse us for the money we will lose for getting the purchase to the point we have ( ready to go ) with the solicitor.
