Hi Dean, Thanks for leaving us a review, it’s a shame that you felt we were only worthy of two stars. This appears to be as result of the agreed deduction to your deposit at the end of your tenancy. With refence to the deposit deduction, there was a fully independent Check Out conducted by an AIIC accredited inventory clerk who determined that there were several tenant chargeable items. To be absolutely clear, Martin & Co made no money whatsoever as a result of the deduction to your deposit. The total deduction was £259. This the breakdown was for the following: - £179.00 - This was for cleaners to attend and clean the property to ensure it was back to the standard in which you received it at Check in. In addition to the cleaning (and included in the £179 cost) they were also asked to conduct the following tenant chargeable items: - Remove the sticky pads on front door frame, remove plant pots and cigarette ends from balcony, remove the blue wool from the entry phone, remove the stickers left on kitchen door, replace kitchen bulb that was not working (working at check in) and remove stickers left on the bathroom door. £80.00 – This was compensation to the landlord for other items noted as ‘tenant cost’ on the check-out report, these include:- Six button hooks and two screws left to the walls. Fridge Freezer – middle drawer and bottom drawer cracked to front and base. As you were advised at the time, the Landlord agreed to a compensatory figure for these items (punctured walls and broken fridge doors) to keep the cost down for you. If a contractor were asked to attend and to fill, sand and paint the punctured walls and replace the damaged freezer drawers then the deduction would have been considerably higher. The deduction of £259 was agreed by you at the time without any objection. I hope that on reflection you will be able to appreciate that in no way have Martin & Co "tried to make as much money as possible" when it has come to your deposit. Wishing you the very best, Martin & Co
