Curchods have been our Estate Agent for 35 years. We bought our first house with Owen Miles in 1990 in Shepperton. Owen and the team in Shepperton have always been extremely supportive and most importantly honest when selling and buying our houses over the years. We would not go anywhere else when buying in Surrey, other EAs just don’t have the professionalism that Curchods do, in fact from our own experience we have had attempts by other EAs to take our marketed house from Curchods with promises of purchasers waiting in the wings. Very underhand and distasteful. Curchods do not do that, therefore they have our business.

There are numerous issues with the letting property managed by Curchods. My flat was in a newly renovated state when it was rented out. Then the second property inspection report revealed that the living room had been converted into a bedroom with 3 beds, which raised concerns about overcrowding. When I asked Migle about this issue, she said that there was no sign of subletting. To the contrary, during a subsequent visit, I found 4 children and 2 adults living in the 2-bedroom flat, a significant increase from the original occupants (1 child and 2 parents). Migle's response was unsatisfactory, dismissing my concerns with the comment that they couldn't keep a 24/7 watch on the property, without offering any apology or taking responsibility. Even after the tenants moved out, significant damage was discovered, including burn marks on the carpet, numerous stains on the carpet, drawings and scratches on the walls. Despite the extensive damage, when it came to deducting from the deposit, Migle described the condition of the property as "fair wear and tear". This assessment seems unreasonable, especially considering the property was occupied by 4 kids and 2 adults, far exceeding the original occupancy agreement. Migle's characterisation of the damage as fair wear and tear is puzzling to say the least.
