Review of Goodman and Lilley Portishead

The whole team at Goodman and Lilley Portishead branch were excellent. Very responsive, knowledgeable and professional. In particular Mandy Bushell senior sales negotiator was outstanding. During the whole process she worked hard to make things happen and was my ‘rock’ when things got stressful. Her good humour, years of experience and customer focus are second to none. Best out there

I cannot speak highly enough of Goodman & Lilley Portishead branch. Selecting from a competitive Estate Agent field in our area was always going to be difficult, but I am so pleased I chose G&L. I quickly became familiar with all the friendly staff and management team. Communication was always hassle free, prompt and friendly, from initial valuation, viewing appointments, buyers offers and sealing purchase. My sale & purchase fell into the very capable hands of Mandy Bushell. Mandy’s can do and friendly attitude is a joy to deal with, this is even more admirable when you consider the fast pace, stressful work environment Estate Agency brings. Nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble for Mandy and it’s lovely to hear such a positive voice, even when the chain was broke.. The biggest compliment I can give Mandy is you feel that she is every much part of your journey and is involved in helping you make the right decisions to get your dream move over the line, just as if it was Mandy moving. I strongly recommend G&L for all your agency requirements, you would be foolish to try elsewhere. Special thank you to Mandy, Paula, Chris, Alex, Craig, Richard, Sophie and (Jack)

Would highly recommend

When looking to move house I registered my details with every agent in Portishead, (10 in total I believe!!) Goodman & Lilley were the only ones who seemed really interested in finding the right house for me to buy and so I also decided to sell with them. Craig showed me round a number of properties so he could understand and narrow down what I was looking for and Chris was fantastic when it came to marketing our house, with advice and suggestions. Whenever I called the office, every member of the team knew who I was and what I was looking for and were all able to give me an update of the latest situation with our selling and buying. G&L were very proactive in our house search and I really felt like they were there to help us when it came to selling and buying. During the course of buying/selling I have probably spoken to every member of the G&L team and can't fault them. They have all been very helpful and friendly and I have already recommended them to anyone looking to buy/sell in the Portishead area.

Excellent customer service & supportive staff

The staff at Goodman & Lilley are giving us exceptional support with the sale of our property. It has been a very difficult and vulnerable time for us and the staff have been extremely understanding. They have been sensitive to our needs and have only proceeded when we were ready. I cannot rate them highly enough and personally I have found them to be very professional and supportive.

Best Estate Agents EVER!

I found the team in not only helpful but also welcoming. Always taking an interest and remembering any plans I had made for example I popped to the shops and they would still remember and ask me how i had got on, giving the whole experience a real personal touch. I felt everyone in the branch worked together and gelled really well as a team. As for the branch Manager Chris, in my experience I have found managers tend to not get involved, however WOW he is a shining example of what a branch manager should be. He takes time to speak to you personally and make sure you are happy process and they have such good connections with all of the near by solicitors if you ever do feel felt out of what is going on (I never did) Lucy is brilliant at finding out this information! Another purchaser tried to gazump my purchase and I was so worried and scared that I would loose out on my dream home but Chris made sure that I got the property as he believed in my interests first rather than the extra money that was offered by the other client. All I can say is I am so happy with the service I received and I am going to miss seeing everyone in the Portishead office. Thank you Goodman and Lilly!

1 Star - Avoid these agents at all cost.

In all my years I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. I left my viewing actually lost for words, I felt hurt, let down, belittled, accused of things I have no idea about (all from someone we wanted to buy a house from, great selling tactic) We have been blatantly lied to by two members of staff while of trying to purchase a cottage and when we finally got our viewing (knowing they were in the wrong) they sheepishly sent in branch manager Chris. He was rude, unprofessional, unwilling to hear what had happened to us, he spoke to us as if we were stupid and it was a horrible situation. He sealed the deal on our opinion of this rogue estate agent team. As a buyer or seller I would never trust this so called team of sharks. As Chris put it so bluntly to me yesterday 'he couldn't care less who he sells a house to as long as he gets top money'. This means you the seller or the buyer, he couldn't care less about you, you are not a person you are a walking pound sign and they will achieve this by any means. They push potential buyers out so that they can push properties towards people they are currently selling/sold for houses for and make more money in the process. You won't get to make an offer because they don't want you to in the first place. NEVER EVER AGAIN we will even consider a property sold by them and I have to wonder how many others have been pushed out of properties by backhanders and lies from these dishonest agents. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement you don't go to a viewing with the intention of spending your life savings only to be belittled by an aggressive, so called branch manager. I pity anyone who is dealing with them at the moment. Question everything. They do not have your best interests at heart.

Shocking Customer Service

I will never ever use this Estate Agent. After constantly calling their customer service as very professional they are / were anything but. They have an air of arrogance that makes attempting to deal with them virtually impossible. One to avoid - very unpleasant. Expected me to serve notice on my landlord before having passed their referencing! What planet are they on???
