They were organised and friendly.

Awful agency to deal with. They seriously do not care about the tenant as long as you pay rent and refuse to answer emails about issues that you may have while renting through them. Genuinly appaling. It took court threats to get any response about my issues and reimbursement for damages caused by their clear negligence of the problem at hand. I highly reccomend you stay the hell away from them. Never in my life did i think that i could be treated like this when i have a huge problem at hand.

I wasn’t going to bother leaving this review, but our final experience with Martin & Co changed my mind… We were tenants and rented a property with Martin & Co for three years. The house was poorly maintained with the absolute minimum spent on it at every opportunity. We had a door with big gaps around it for almost the entire of our tenancy and during the winter would get water coming through the front door and wind blowing into the living room. Hard to know how much of this is the estate agent vs landlords fault to be fair but Martin & Co were our only contact. Between contracts for each of the years we were also threatened with eviction if we didn’t sign new agreements for increased rent (they would not allow a rolling contract). But after putting up with this, come the end of our tenancy, the house was nitpicked for every deposit deductible imaginable. Every back and forth email took days if not weeks and It took us nearly 2 months to get our deposit back - very frustrating. Unfortunately, as tenants, we don’t get to choose who the estate agent of a property you like is with, but just be aware that this is the kind of thing you might have to deal with Martin & Co.

We had a bad experience renting out with the New Milton branch of this company. Very disorganised and unprofessional. If you're a tenant keep in mind that this company regards the landlord as their tenant and will do everything in the landlord's interest, not the tenant's. Not only that, after we vacated the property they opened our mail and didn't respond to our emails. Avoid.

Our experience with this particular branch of estate agents has been very disappointing and unprofessional. Despite paying a holding deposit and being told that the referencing process would start, we did not receive any updates for a couple of weeks. However, this ultimately turned out to be a positive thing, as it prompted us to withdraw our offer and return to Charters Estate Agents, who provided a more proactive and communicative service that met our expectations. Moreover, the agents at Martin & Co demonstrated unprofessionalism, including a lack of belief in our employment status and dismissiveness due to our age. Additionally, they required us to conduct referencing before the official process began, citing that the landlord did not want to pay for it if it failed, which seemed unreasonable given that our previous residence was twice the value of the property we were inquiring about this time. This was our first experience with this branch and unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. We will be avoiding working with them in the future. We hope that sharing our experience will be helpful to others.

I phoned 3 times regarding a property we wished to purchase and none of my calls were returned.
