Very upset with the way we are being treated. It has been over 2 weeks since we were told a rental would not go through. Through no fault of our own, landlord is now selling the property. We were advised we would receive a full refund on the deposit we paid. Yet we are still waiting for this. We have called a couple times, to be advised someone would call us back. I don’t want a call back, I want the deposit back. I can not believe during a pandemic, where my partner is furloughed, the staff of Martin and co are dragging there feet like this. It’s a disgusting way to treat customers in any circumstance!

Since Martin & Co took over management of the property I was renting there was nothing but issues. There were a number of issues in the house which they never responded to or fixed and when chased they claimed it had already been done! At the end of my tenancy I left the house a month prior to the end date as I’d bought a new house. They waited until my keys were handed in to them for the rental property before billing me an obscene amount for an end of tenancy clean (which I’d already carried out) which had they have gotten their act together I could have sorted any issues they may have had prior to dropping the keys off. Not to mention they had shown people around the property and someone had to ‘take a leak’ and left the toilet soiled then attempted to blame myself for it! When they were contacted by phone to discuss the issues the phone was promptly put down when something was said they didn’t like. Absolutely dreadful experience with them. I would never wish the experience I have had with them on anyone so please do avoid them at all costs 🤯

Poor service had to constantly contact both branches in Crewe and Nantwich for updates on a rental property.No proper handover just told their were a few electrical faults in the property and an electrician would be in touch. On arrival to property no hot water and intercom system does not operate entrance doors which was not handed over to us on collection of keys or prior.Would not recommend customer service as have had to constantly chase for updates etc etc. Very disappointed would not rent through them again.

We have had to change a number of processes to meet new regulations etc and this unfortunately means less of a personal touch on move ins. We have been in contact with your husband and your landlord to resolve the teething troubles at the property.

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. serious maintenance issues have been reported time and time again. they couldn't even be bothered to come and do a quote for the work to send to the landlord so not the landlords fault. awful treatment of both tenant and landlord

I should have listened to their previous tenants which said that this company doesn't care about the tenants, and the problems that the houses have.I am renting for 5 months now at Crewe 1 of their own properties, and there were several problems. To fix these problems you would have to wait minimum a month, or as in my case have not yet been resolved. A boiler and an electric shower that needs to be replaced they "cannot pay" to replace them. The boiler is noisy and leaks water, the person that came recommended to be changed, the company doesn't want the boiler changed. The electric shower has been burnt, while I had shower, and instead of replacing it, they have placed a different shower that now costs me in gas £400, and keeps running the gas meter.I am never going to rent from these people again. they treat their tenants like peasants of the old days, like I am the worst human walked on earth.I cant wait for the tenancy to end, I will go to citizens advisor and then to the council to report these things, and their behaviour towards me and my wife.

Wish I could rate even lower!! My parents moved in to an over-priced property in Nantwich. After being completely mugged off at the viewing and being told to “have a look round yourself” (do letting agents not show people round houses anymore, no?) they moved in to find the oven, fridge freezer, and hot water didn’t work. The boiler is over 25 years old and hasn’t been serviced for over 10. There is one BROKEN carbon monoxide detector by the boiler, but not by the coal fire in the living room. The maintenance office have been incredibly rude to both of my elderly parents. A few maintenance people have been since, a plumber and electrician, both who have agreed the property is not in a fit state to be let out. The electrician fitted a second WORKING carbon monoxide alarm in the living room opposite the fire. Today, CHRISTMAS DAY. They have woken to find no hot water and their carbon monoxide alarm going off. I have rung the out of hours number on behalf of my parents as my mum had a hip operation on Friday and returned home yesterday. The woman I spoke to barely spoke, offered no sympathy, just asked for my name and number and if I was sure that Martin and co managed it. She said they wouldn’t be able to do anything today... This company are an absolute joke. Avoid at all costs!!
