Deeply Disappointed – Unprofessional and Immoral Conduct I recently made an offer on a property listed at £750,000 through this agency, and unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of appalling. After a few initial emails, the vendor responded with a counteroffer that I accepted late on a Friday afternoon. I followed up the next morning only to receive an out-of-office reply from the agent, stating they were on holiday for six days—with no prior notice or handover to a colleague. I was left completely in the dark. After the bank holiday weekend, I contacted the office on Tuesday. The staff member I spoke to had no knowledge of the property or my offer, but promised a call back. That call finally came on Thursday, from the same individual, who informed me that another buyer had viewed the property and submitted a higher offer. I was asked if I’d like to increase mine. I was stunned, especially since I had already agreed terms with the seller. I expressed my dissatisfaction, only to be told that while this practice—commonly known as gazumping—isn’t illegal, it may be considered “immoral.” Despite my frustration, I was again asked if I wished to raise my offer. Under pressure and seeing little alternative, I reluctantly increased my offer significantly the next day. It was accepted, and I was informed the property would be taken off the market. While preparing the necessary documents, I received a dismissive and condescending response from the manager, Matthew, regarding my formal complaint. Rather than addressing my concerns or offering an apology, he simply reiterated that they had followed procedure and expressed delight that my higher offer was accepted. Still unsettled by their handling of the situation, I emailed Matthew again, expressing serious concerns about continuing with the purchase. To my shock, I received a reply stating there was no longer a need for me to decide—because the vendor had opted to proceed with another buyer and the property was now sold (subject to contract). Twice my offers were accepted, and twice I was left blindsided. This agency demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism, transparency, and empathy throughout. They seemed more interested in playing games than in supporting serious buyers through one of the most significant financial and emotional decisions they’ll ever make. I will never do business with this agency again and would strongly caution others to think twice before engaging with them. The service was dreadful, and the attitude throughout was disturbingly cavalier.
Absolutely disgusting discrimination against disables people in 2020 i phoned about a bungalow and explained about my spinal injury and that I could not view in person and would like a virtual viewing was told I could not as the property is popular and would only go with people viewing in person when I questioned the girl she actually put the phone down DISGUSTINGNegativeProfessionalism
Williams and Goodwin....... Professional staff not all are professional..... We rented through TPP twice and never again... Our application we made to the council for housing was deferred due to the false information given to them from Willams and Goodwin.....Think Twice
Could actually show up for viewings. Standing people up is extremely unprofessional and totally unacceptable.
When I first used Wms & Goodwin 2 years ago for my first and only role as a landlord, I was very happy with all aspects of the service so I naturally returned to your company when my tenants left after 2 years. I called at the Caernarfon office to instruct your company to advertise for me.. I filled in the Agency Agreement, When asked if I wanted the Managed service or the Find Tenant Only I said I wanted the latter as previously as we live nearby the property. There was no conversation about section 2 within that agreement (Phil at Caernarfon had filled in the original form for me) and I confess I did not refer to that form, I just wanted the same service as before, asked for the company to arrange for a chimney sweep and an electrician so I could obtain the appropriate certificates, told them that the house would be ready for viewing by 12.8.16 and that the original photos taken by Phil 2 years ago could be used again as the house was immaculate and looked the same. Within days of availability we had two viewings, one of which became the current tenant. from 17.8.16. Since then I have contacted both your Caernarfon office and your Lettings office to request the certificates, always being told they would be "chased up". Last Friday I phoned Kelly yet again and mentioned that I had not received the Contract either. She told me I had not requested one and I would have to pay ( I think she said £120 ) for one. I was taken aback by this and a short while after I phoned back to explain I hadn't realised that I hadn't filled in the form correctly. I then suggested that, as I'd repeatedly had to ask for the certificates and that Wms & Goodwin had had very little work to do on my behalf (ie there was no need for photos ) that it might be a nice gesture if the Company provided me with the Agreement Form at a favourable rate. Kelly said she would speak to her manager and phone me back. ( she didn't). In the evening I received an e mail from her saying the manager had been unavailable and she would phone me on Monday. I heard nothing and on Tuesday I phoned again. It seems the manager would not entertain my suggestion and Kelly repeated that I could obtain a similar form from the internet. The missing certificates still had not materialised and she would carry on chasing them. I told her I was not happy with the service I'd received from the Company. I am particularly disappointed with the manager's attitude as I do not consider it to be good customer relations and I am left with no reason to ever use the Company again. The certificates still have not arrived. Brenda Patterson.
Don't even deserve 1 star. Shocking customer service. Treated terribly!
