Valuation and knowledge very poor

We had a representative from galley come to value our property. We were less than impressed initially that unlike any other agents no notes, measurements or reference photos were taken in order to follow up the valuation. This would have been especially useful as our property is slightly different from others locally and galleys representative was to follow up after with an estimation at what value they would recommend marketing. This was followed by repeated missed deadlines on reporting back which went on for well over a week. When we did finally get feedback this was poor and based on incomplete and incorrect information including the phrase: "as you are in a hurry to sell we would recommend..." a completely incorrect statement, in fact the opposite was true - perhaps the notes would have helped! Obviously following this we had absolutely no confidence in listing with galley but despite this they seemed to insist on signing us up to their mailing list multiple times with no option to unsubscribe

We are sorry to see that you were unhappy with the level of service we provided. As a company we pride ourselves on the fact that the service we provide is unlike other agents. As you can appreciate not all agents will follow the same process and we are sorry to hear that because we do things a little differently you felt unimpressed by us. Our staff member attended your property for several hours there to ensure they fully understood everything about it. It is our process to make thorough notes once we return to our office rather than have a quick scan making notes and basic measurements on the run. Our staff member wanted to give you their full attention and that particular agent has many years of property development and sales experience and is very capable of writing up the very detailed notes shortly afterwards. We do not take photographs and measurements at our valuations because we use professional photographers and experienced plan makers for this once instructed with a property. We feel other agents who do these on the initial visit do this to cut corners later on, something we would never do. We always provide a thorough followup visit for photos and plans to make sure a property is listed at its very best. Our agent not only spent time at your property getting to know all its details and unique selling points, they also spent a long time looking for accurate comparables to provide a valuation that would in their opinion lead to a sale. We are sorry that you felt we were unable to provide the valuation in a very fast time if not immediately. As you explain your 'property is slightly different from others locally' and because we put together our valuations based on actual comparable information of what has sold in your area this can take slightly longer, especially for a 'slightly different' property such as yours. This is why we never gave you a price on the day like other agents, our valuations are always based on detailed research. Your statement that you were not in a hurry to sell your property does not ring true to what was discussed on the day. You explained to our staff member that you wished to move in time for the new school year which was just a short time away. Your sense of urgency for us to provide a valuation within a matter of hours also supports this. If this was misunderstood then we can only apologise but what was discussed at our very long and detailed visit to your property indicated to us several times that you sought a quick sale. Your current listing with the on-line agent that you subsequently decided to list with highlights that offers are invited, again suggesting that you are wanting to invite immediate offers. Based on your comments regarding mailing lists we are reviewing our unsubscribe options to make them easier to follow and more customer friendly so we appreciate your feedback regarding this.
