Told me I could view a property I was interested in renting. Never got back to me. Communication is poor. Staff are rude.
Pleasant enough but let us down badly. We saw a flat in Caterham back in November. Went to sign the paperwork to be told the flat was going up for sale so had been taken off the market. Came back up for rent on 23rd December so again we put the paperwork in only to be told that there were 2 people in the running and the landlord had picked the other person who I suspect wasn't on full Uiniversal Credit. We should have been called as soon as it came back on the market. Very disappointed.
Don't bother
Very slow service and lack of support when work is required on one of their rental properties.
Keen to take your money but useless, and rude, if any problems once tenancy commences. Not helpful at all.
Not the best estate agent around. They're not to helpful when we (the tenants) we're trying to get stuff sorted... surely it's their prerogative to make sure certain things are done. It felt like they were happy to take our money but not give any service in return.
I would not recommend to use the services of Martin@co. Unfortunately staff are giving out misleading/withholding information. Firstly, after viewing a property twice my husband and I were informed that the advance payment would be 1 1/2 months rent which was altered in the Terms of Business to 2 months in advance. Secondly, on both viewings I requested for a long term contract (2 years) which we were informed by Martin@co that the landlord agreed to this contract but after signing the terms of business and payment was made to secure the property, in a matter of a couple of hours Martin@co emailed me to say that a 2 year contract could not go ahead because of the mortgage lender of the landlord. Only when I made a official complaint to Martin@co, they agreed to pay back the references fee and application fee although Martin@co are not obliged to do so. After quite a few emails, It took Martin@co almost a month before we got all the money back.
STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. Staff are lovely however they don't do anything about problems regardless of how many times you ask or how bad it is. Currently living in a house full of mould - confirmed by 2 damp specialists that it is because of the property NOT US - there was a leak which WE FIXED AT OUR OWN COST - and there is bad ventilation is the house. We have provided 2 quotes for the work, they were meant to organise a quote but haven't bothered. It has been 4 months and we still have not had anyone make any effort to resolve the issues. I have 2 children, a 7 month old and a 6 year old who both are getting ill. Ive had a nasty cough and daily headaches for months. The house is fully managed so the agent should be chasing the landlord, and I should not be chasing them to do so.
