Was told we couldn't view a property unless we had an offer in place on our own house. Would not be very happy with this if my property was for sale with them . In previous purchasing have not come across this issue, and can only see this policy benifits the estate agent. As someone who has previously purchased and marketed with them, i would question this policy before considering them again.

Ethical landlords, steer clear! Do not go with this agent if if your values include being a 21st century landlord! A previous tenant of theirs, I dared to rise above my station by complaining about the state the house was left in by their tradesman when I returned home from 10 days in hospital, making it extremely difficult for me to move around in a state of convalescence. No satisfaction resulted from my complaint, their agent was determinedly unapologetic and I resolved there and then to not allow myself to be treated so poorly. I was lucky enough to be in a position to buy a house and immediately did so. Shortly afterwards I spent £300+ on an end of tenancy clean, using the local cleaning firm and service OF THEIR CHOOSING! They then withheld the deposit over a dusty skirting board on the stairs (presumably left by the cleaning firm - remember - OF THEIR CHOOSING) and insisted on a further £18 of cleaning to put this right. This was a laughably obvious punishment for my daring to complain and then simply hand in notice on my tenancy without need of a reference - a last chance to wield a bit of power, made all the more immoral by the condition of the house when I moved in: it was filthy and hadn't been cleaned, which was even noted on the inventory. This didn't deter them from their extortionate behaviour. I only feel for those tenants less able than I to escape their clutches.

Our records include all correspondence relating to the tenancy, including inventory, check in and check outs, and emails ending on amicable terms. If you're looking for a friendly, reliable agent I'd recommend you look elsewhere. I've had a mortgage for 20+ years and this was my first rental experience. Repairs haven't been carried out, contracts were incorrect and staff are intimidating - this relates to the Bridport office. Definitely do not not use if you have any kind of illness.

Have been chasing for the

Have been chasing for the deposit to be returned after renting through the Bridport branch. No sign of it months of chasing later and no one seems to know how to sort the issue out, who has the money and how to get it back to me. Appalling service, would never use them again.
