Lazy bastards

Avoid at all costs! We haven't even had the "pleasure" to meet these people in person! And they already managed to hugely disappoint. We wanted to view a flat in Banbury and called to make an appointment with the agent. The man was very hostile over the phone, said that the landlord wants someone sooner than our move date (more than 1 month away), which I can appreciate, but he said he'll show us the place anyway. He took my details, name, telephone, budget,etc. The alarm bells went, when on the day of the viewing, we didn't hear anything from the agency. I had to make another phone call and didn't get through to the branch, but a receptionist. They at least gave me the full post code of the property and ensured me that someone will get back to me. Well no one did! We arrived at the location, and through process of elimination found the correct door number. I'd like to add that we studied all the pictures closely and looks like some of them were of different flats from the same street. ( The giveaway was a window view and parked car in one of the photos.) We called again... No answer, so we were transferred to the receptionist. Again... We explained our situation and they suggested the same solution- we will get the agent to call you. But why would they if they haven't done that for the past hour? After waiting another 30 minutes, we just drove off. No one EVER called back to apologize, rectify situation, nothing! Let the other reviews be a warning too.

Obvious fake 1 post only positive reviews, if you're a tenant check out some genuine reviews on line about this unethical shower. They seem friendly enough at first, if not a little inept. What follows is nothing but problems, incompetence, invasions of privacy and a lack of the very basics you should expect. Not forgetting the thinly disguised theft at the end of your tenancy. AVOID at all costs.

The worst Estate agent in Banbury, a thoroughly unpleasant service from start to finish. Overpriced like all Estate Agents but Martin and Co Banburys speciality was copied and pasted paperwork that was untidy and unkempt. You get the impression the office staff do nothing a day for the gratuitous fees charged. The office is a tacky mess. The staff are just as rude if you walk in off the street as if you make an appointment. We heard nothing from them after we'd paid our fees and deposit. Even then, we lost holiday from work as the property was not ready for the arranged date. There was no apology and an unwillingness to be flexible at the end of the tenancy. Disgraceful behaviour. We were offered a long term tenancy but this was a lie. The tenancy only lasted one year for no reason whatsoever. No complaints were made to us and the only notice we received the tenancy was to end was a letter in the post. It has now become obvious that this was a short term let all along and we were lied to by an unscrupulous landlord and agent. The service is the poorest I have ever received. The member of staff who was the most unpleasant was Nicola Halfpenny. After a year of dreadful service in a flat we maintained ourselves, she was unapologetic and rude. I will be circulating this review on nunerous platforms for future potential employers to see. We received no reasons for the ending of the tenancy and no assistance in finding elsewhere. They also refused to honour the 2 days we were late moving in by due to their own incompetence. Martin and Co already has a poor reputation in Banbury and we will be making a further complaint to head office for the two month wait receiving our deposit after moving out. Avoid at all costs.

Tenant's view - raft of extra terms and fines bolted on the end of a standard contract, by the far the most extensive I have ever been presented with. Discourteous and unhelpful staff too.

absolutely disgusted with the service in the last year from Martin & co. their lettings manager is disgustingly rude and the staff never call you back. this agency has caused me more stress than anything this year and i cant wait for our tenancy to end to get away from this company.
