Really friendly and thought about what we wanted and would suit us! Easy going and chatty. Made the whole experience very easy.
So initially sugarhouse was a great estate agent to be with, the move in process was simple and they helped us along the way. With different housemates coming from various parts of the U.K. and then also a different country they made paperwork easy to handle. They were relatively efficient throughout the year not taking too long to solve any maintenance issues that were under there contract. However, the problems all came after we left the property. They suddenly no longer cared about our custom and have been completely useless because we no longer pay them rent after moving from the property. A 5 person house each paying £300 deposit at the start of the year equals a pretty hefty amount which is supposed to be returned upon leaving the property. It’s been over 4 months and we still haven’t received it back. They have dodged our emails and calls and are very blunt over the phone trying to shift the blame to “needing prices back from utility suppliers to know whether you have outstanding debt” now obviously that’s okay, but they’ve had the readings for over 4 weeks now and the utility suppliers have directly told us that we have no outstanding bills. So they’re just dragging their feet reluctant to give back money and now telling us they want to do another inventory check, for what?! No doubt to try and reduce the amount they give back. Be wary when going with this company, it may seem all nice and good at first but eventually that’ll change and we will not be using them again after this.
Found my perfect house. Didn't see the right property on the first viewing but after finding out more details, we went back out and got it all sorted :)
As a Landlord of student properties I would definitely recommend Sugarhouse They let our properties immediately even when they are in construction phases and are still being developed.They do not prioritise larger portfolio landlords They have a great perception of the market and their marketing strategies suit their audience perfectly. They are a brilliant letting agency
Awful - Do NOT rent with sugarhouse. Complete disregard of the wellbeing of their tenants. Repeatedly hang up and ignore calls. We have been left without heating, no hot water, no fridges/ freezers for days during a blizzard and have had no communication or shown no sense of urgency to try and rectify the problem. We have been driven out of our own home and had to pay for a hotel which they say 'isn't their problem'. We have had to buy all meals for 3 days as all our food has gone off and again 'not their problem'. If you sign with sugarhouse you will not be considered a priority and be treated with nothing more than absolute disrespect.
